Video iPod to launch on April Fools

In a research report on Portalplayer, analysts have cited independent confirmation that a redesigned video iPod will be launched at Apple's 30th anniversary announcement. Along with a bigger battery, lcd, and HD, analysts expect the price to be around $400-$500.

Analysts expect Apple is going to use PortalPlayer's audio decoding processor in the new video iPod because of some possible reasons like Apple's design schedule constraints, PortalPlayer's software 'stickiness,' likely Video iPod device processing requirements, and the execution risk Apple faces should it change processor suppliers.
