The fact that Da Vinci Code trying to reveal Jesus had a child with Mary Magdalene and that the Opus Dei Catholic organization as a secret association whose members will not hesitate to murder in order to reach their goals, is the centered issue scorned by Vatican.
Cardinal Paul Poupard, the No. 2 on cultural issues after Pope Benedict told Fance's Europe 1 Radio:
“This is a shocking and worrying cultural phenomenon that reflects, on the one hand, the ignorance of millions of people and, on the other, the voluptuous pleasure the media take in promoting products that have nothing to do with the truth.”In the same time, he complained the media showed no interest in a Dictionary of Religions he edited.
“If a product that mixes up claims made as fact, fiction and so on, andResponding to the question if movie viewers should boycott Tom Hanks and Audrey Tautou starring film, he didn't object to people watching the movie with saying:
