A Fish Sold for US$75, 000

This giant golden cod croaker (金钱鳘/黄唇鱼) whose swim bladder is deemed as a very valuable delicacy was netted off the coast of Zhanjiang by a fisherman in the south China's Guangdong Province on April 1. The 49-kilogram-weighing fish was sold to a local restaurant at a whopping price of 580,000 yuan or US$ 75,000, breaking a record set by the same fish weighing 48 kg sold at 22,5000 yuan or US$ 29,000 three years ago.
