Phelps: the Most Successful Swimmer at the Championships

America's Michael Phelps posed with his gold medals at the World Swimming Championships in Melbourne, Australia, April 1, 2007. Phelps won seven gold medals and set five world record at the Championships, which made him the most successful swimmer ever at the world championships. Now he joined countryman Mark Spitz as the only swimmers to win seven golds at a major international meet. Spitz set his record at 1972 Munich Summer Olympics. Phelps definitely has ambitions to equal the feat or go one better at next year's 2008 Beijing Games Olympics. Link
