The No. 1 Zongzi of Beijing City

The title of this post is directly translated from the Chinese characters adherent to the giant Zongzi/Chinese glutinous rice dumpling which stands at 2 meters tall. A shopping mall at Heping Road(West) of Beijing puts it in front of the entrance to welcome the upcoming Duanwu Festival/Dragon Boat Festival which falls on June 19. The giant Zongzi was made from 150 kg of glutinous rice and 50 kg of red dates! Now I am wondering if the shop will sell it by cutting into pieces.

Update: As I expected, the giant Zongzi will be auctioned off at a base price of one yuan. June 19.

In constrast, another shop at Wujiaochang Commercial Street in Shanghai put an even larger Zongzi in front of its door, but it is an 5-meter-tall inflatable plasitic one (world's largest zongzi?). Apparently in such a hot weather nowadays in China, to my own viewpoint, this is a much better idea as the glutinous rice dumpling easily becomes soured.
