Britney Spears was photographed taking a box of the prescription medicine Provigil in an open purse on her way into the Beverly Hills Hotel on Oct.24 (See the large image below).
According to OK! magazine, Provigil, the brand name for Modafinil, is "a medication to treat excessive sleepiness caused by certain sleep disorders. These sleep disorders are narcolepsy, obstructive sleep apnea/hypopnea syndrome, and shift work sleep disorder."
some doctors have prescribed the drug for treatment of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), while there are others who believe that Provigil is a so-called "smart drug," that can actually enhance the brain's cognitive ability. Modafinil has even been used experimentally to treat addiction to cocaine.
So, Why would Britney possibly take Provigil?
