Congressman Republican Henry Hyde, full name Henry John Hyde, died earlier today at 3 a.m. CST at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago. He was 83.
He had suffered complications from an open heart surgery operation at that hospital in July and never completely recovered from the procedure.
Hyde (born April 18, 1924) was a member of the United States House of Representatives from 1975 to 2007, representing the 6th District of Illinois. He chaired the the Judiciary Committee from 1995 to 2001, the House International Relations Committee from 2001 to 2007. Link Tags:
