Valerie Begue, the beauty pageant from he French overseas département of Réunion in Indian Ocean, was crowned the title of Miss France 2008 on December 8.
But when those so-called racy photos published by the Entrevue magazine surfaced on the internet, Miss France Committee threatened to strip of her title.
Now possibly due to the pressure from Begue's hometown where many of the 800,000 inhabitants have risen up to support her, Genevieve de Fontenay president of Committee Miss France, the formidable 75-year-old who has run the Miss France contest for more than 50 years, had agreed to keep Valerie's crown and not to take the matter further.
