On July 15, the 36-year-old Londoner and maritime lawyer Lewis Gordon Pugh became the first (British) person to swim at geographic North Pole. He swam a full kilometre in 18 minutes and 50 seconds at minus 1.8 Celcius degree - the coldest waters a human has ever swum in. When responding to the media interview, Pugh, dubbed as Human Polar Bear, said the swim was a triumph but it was a tragedy that it's possible to swim at the North Pole.
