Meet Jerome Kerviel, a trader in charge of plain vanilla futures hedging on European equity market indices of France's second largest bank Societé Générale by the market valuue. The rogue trader who duped investors and bank officials and outwitted the bank's security programs now is responsible for the bank's s 4.9 billion-euro ($7.1 billion) trading loss, the largest in European history. Kerviel joined Societe Generale in 2000 and spent around three years in the bank's back office before spending the last two years on its futures desk in Paris. Source: Telegraph
