Swimming great Michael Phelps makes a history in the 29th Beijing Summer Olympic Games on August 17, 2008. Phelps, under the collaboration of teammates Aaron Peirsol, Brendan Hansen and Jason Lezak, won his final and also 8th gold medal at the men's 4 x100m medley relay final at this Olympics, becoming the world's only athlete who can win eight gold medals at a single Olympics. The Americans won in a world-record of 3:29.34 minutes, rewriting the old score of 3:30.68 set four years ago in Athens. For Michael Phelps, he also broke Mark Spitz's 36-year-old record of 7 gold medals in one Olympics.
