Google Wedded to S&P 500

Google Joining S&P 500 brings Google shares a boost jumping $30.82 to $372.71on the Nasdaq stock market on Friday.

Google will be part of the benchmark index effective at the close of trade on 31 March, Standard & Poor's said. The inclusion is the latest milestone for the Silicon Valley upstart co-founded by two students and which today is one of most influential companies in the world. It also brings in a much sought after Wall Street recognition for the company, which embodies all that is unconventional. (EarthTimes.org)
