Lightning Strike Risk Warning For Handphone Users

"This rare phenomenon is a public health issue, and education is necessary to highlight the risk of using mobile phones outdoors during stormy weather to prevent future fatal consequences from lighting strike injuries."
Doctors at Northwick Park Hospital of North West London, warned In a letter to a scientific medical journal that people should not use handphones outdoors during thunderstorms due to the possibility of being struck by lightning, while taking a 15-year-old girl case as example.

The girl was struck by a bolt of lightning in a park when using her phone. Though she was revived later, she suffered persistant health problom and has to rely on a wheelchair for her following life.

p.s, the photo captured by Reuters' photographer Stringer shows a spectacular lightning recently happened in Shanghai (see my own snapshot of the samer area in a sunny day?)
